Purpose of the mod

This TNG modification allows a user to create a Branch showing their ancestors and then to have those Ancestors' names made bold on their parents' getperson.php pages.

Requirements

• A working TNG installation.
• A backup of all affected files (see the list in the summary to the right)
• An installed current version of the Mod Manager.

Installation

1. Uninstall and delete previous version of this mod (if installed)
2. Download the appropriate zip file as shown in the mod summary in the upper right corner of the page.
3. Extract the file from the downloaded zip file into the mods folder or FTP the extracted file to your mods folder.
4. Follow the normal automated installation for Mod Manager, as shown in the example Mod Manager - Installing Config Files to install the mod.

In the event of a problem

• Try using the Mod Manager Remove capability.
• Copy the backup of the affected files back to your TNG directory.
• Retry installing mod.
• Contact us through the TNG Community Forums.

Uninstalling the mod

If you want to completely Remove (uninstall) this mod and all its tables, you should

1. click the Uninstall button to uninstall the mod
2. click the Delete button to delete the config file from the mods folder.

Upgrade

• Uninstall and eventually Delete the current Mod.
• Proceed as for an installation with the new Mod.

Setup Required

This Mod works from a Branch set up on your site that contains your (direct only) Ancestors. The Branch must use the BranchID "Ancestors". To set this up:

1 - Create a Branch with the BranchID = Ancestors. You can give it whatever Description you want to appear on the affected peoples' page - e.g. "My Ancestors". Use your ID for the ID number. Set the Generations for Ancestors and Descendants as shown - Ancestors 20 Generations (or some number to include all generations in your tree), Descendant generations from each ancestor = 0, Descendants 0 and Uncheck "Include spouses for all descendants, and click the "Save" button

2 - Click on Add Labels

3 - Add the Label to the affected people - click the Add Labels Button

Visualization of this mod

Shows the name of an ancestor in bold in the list of his parents' children.
