Purpose of Mod

This mod adds support for German call names. Any uppercase word in the first names list will be underlined (for display only, no data is changed).

Underlining is the official method to mark call names in germany.

For example: Wagner, Michael JAMES William will be converted to Wagner, Michael James William.

  • A working TNG installation. The automated installation release was initially tested at TNG Version 7.1.0.
  • A backup of following TNG files
    • browsetrees.php
    • genlib.php
    • pedjson.php
  • An installed current version of the Mod Manager.

Additional Changes

You might need to change your link style in your mytngstyle.css, otherwise you won't be able to see the underlining.

Ormus used the following css overrides according to the TNG Forum entry additional changes required

A:link, A:active, A:visited { color: #FF7800; text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 1px dotted #ff7800; }

Visualization of the mod

The image on the right shows how the mod underlines the German call name on the TNG page but not in the browser title.

In the event of a problem

  • Try using the Mod Manager Remove capability
  • Or copy your genlib.php, pedjson.php, and browsetrees.php to your TNG directory
  • All should now be well.
