If you upgraded to TNGv12+, and did not update your cust_text.php files as instructed in the upgrade readme script, then you must use the TNG Mod Manager to update them. To do so:

  1. Go to Mod Manager, and select its "Recommended Updates" tab.
    (If the "Recommended Updates" tab is not visible, then go to the Mod Manager Options tab, select "Display Settings", and turn on the "Recommended Updates" tab.)
  2. Click the "Update" button in the "Recommended Updates" tab.
    Installed mods do not interfere with the update, and if you already have (or think you may have) run this update, it will not hurt for you to run it again.

Purpose of the mod

This mod displays the transcripts created by the Census Plus International mod below the census images that are part of TNG user media collections, rather than images saved in the census folder as dbid= file names or using your own file and folder names.

This mod only applies if you are using a TNG media collection for you census images.

It requires that you update the Image URL to point to a showmedia.php link for the census image. See Census Plus International - Image

Developer

This mod was developed by Ken Roy based on promptings by Janice Nation

V9104 enhancement to display multiple households was developed based on promptings from Bryan S. Larson and Rick Hooley

Requirements

  • A working TNG installation.
  • A backup of all affected files (see the list in the summary in the upper right corner of the page)
  • An installed current version of the Mod Manager (is already included in TNG v9)
  • This mod further requires that you
    • install the Census Plus International
    • use a TNG Media Collection to display your census images
    • update the Image URL for the Census Transcript to point to a showmedia.php link for the Census Image
    • Link the Census Image to the Individual census event for which you created links
    • If you want to view more than one household in the transcript below the image, you also need to use the Mod Manager Edit on the Census Plus International mod and changed the default for Return all linked PersonIDs for Media transcript display regardless of household to y

Installation

  1. Download the appropriate zip file as shown in the summary in the upper right corner of the page.
  2. Extract the files and folder from the downloaded zip file into the mods folder or FTP the extracted files and folder to your mods folder.
  3. Follow the normal automated installation for Mod Manager, as shown in the example Mod Manager - Installing Config Files to install the mod.
  4. Note - if you're using the tng.php WordPress-TNG Plugin, you might need to "Update the TNG Variables" in the WordPress Admin pane for the TNG Plugin to get this to work correctly.

With v9104 of the mod, you can now get mulitple households displayed in the Census Plus transcript displayed below the image, by enabling the Mod Manager Edit parameter in the Census Plus International mod for Return all linked PersonIDs for Media transcript display regardless of household. This will then display all linked members to this image.

Known Issues

After an import the Media link to the Person Census Event might get broken. The broken event link results in the Census Transcript not showing below the image display in showmedia.php.

If the census transcript is not displayed, Edit the media and make sure the media is linked to the census event for the person. If the link only shows the link to the person and the event column is blank, then update the link and select the correct event to add to the link.
