Summary	Removes the "Make changes to place name in existing events" checkbox at the bottom of the Edit Place form, because that checkbox allows users to change a place name and then not propagate the change to the various Placename fields in the People, Families, Cemeteries, and other tables.

Purpose of the mod

This TNG modification avoids possible database contamination by removing the "Make changes to place name in existing events" checkbox at the bottom of the Edit Place form. That checkbox allows users to change a place name and then not propagate the change to the various Placename fields in the People, Families, Cemeteries, and other tables.

Compatibility with other Mods

This mod is compatible with these other mods that I've written: Admin Place Edit-Cemeteries, Admin Places Geocode, and Placename Format. It is also compatible with Google maps 15, the only other mod that changes admin_editplace.php.

Related Mods

This mod saves data that can be used by the Show Mod Names utility mod, but is not dependent on Show Mod Names. There are no strict dependencies on any mods.

Requirements

• A working TNG installation.
• A backup of all affected files (see the list in the summary to the right)
• An installed current version of the Mod Manager.

Installation

1. Uninstall and delete previous version of this mod (if installed)
2. Download the appropriate zip file as shown in the mod summary in the upper right corner of the page.
3. Extract the file from the downloaded zip file into the mods folder or FTP the extracted file to your mods folder.
4. Follow the normal automated installation for Mod Manager, as shown in the example Mod Manager - Installing Config Files to install the mod.

In the event of a problem

• Try using the Mod Manager Remove capability.
• Copy the backup of the affected files back to your TNG directory.
• Retry installing mod.
• Contact us through the My Mod Support form or TNG Community Forums.

Uninstalling the mod

If you want to completely Remove (uninstall) this mod and any tables if created, you should

1. click the Uninstall button to uninstall the mod
2. click the Delete button to delete the config file from the mods folder.

Upgrade

• Uninstall and eventually Delete the current Mod.
• Proceed as for an installation with the new Mod.
