Purpose of the Mod

Adds a tab (Events) to the Admin > Places page.
Produces a report of places and corresponding events with filtering by Tree, Branch, Event, Place, Start Year, End Year

Limitations

This mod DOES NOT work for LDS data.

Compatibility with other mods

Will not be compatible with any mod adding a tab(s) to Admin > Places.
At the time of writing, the TNG Wiki showed only 3 mods adding tabs to admin_places.php, and in each case, the number of users using he mod was small:

• Admin Place Utilities
• Admin Places Date
• Admin Places Search

Apologies to any user wanting to use this mod AND any of the above.

Dependencies

None.

Requirements

• A working TNG installation. This mod has only been tested on TNG v14.0.3 but may work with earlier TNG versions.
• A backup of all affected files (see Files Modified in panel top right)
• Both English and English-UTF8 folders must be on your site.
• All other languages supported are optional.

Automated Installation

1. Uninstall and delete previous version of this mod.
2. Backup the files updated by this mod. They are listed under Files modified in the panel at the upper right.
3. Download the .zip file, Extract its .cfg file to the mods folder.
4. Follow the normal automated installation for Mod Manager, as shown in the example Mod Manager - Installing Config Files.

Using the mod

Once installed, access to the mod is through Admin > Places > Events.

Visualisation of this Mod

The mod initially loads an empty form where data can be entered. Tree - 'All Trees' or any one from the database. Branches - 'All Branches' or any one from the database. Events - 'All Events', 'All BMD Events', or any one of the TNG built-in events, or any one of the custom events from the database. Event Place - manual input - any place containing the input string will be selected. Start Year - manual input - any event with a year greater than or equal to this will be selected. End Year - manual input - any event with a year less than or equal to this will be selected. All input is optional.

Results can be sorted ascending or descending by clicking on the arrows in the column headings. A limitation is that for family events, due to the way the mod is coded, sorting on 'Name(s)' does not work. I can live with that - I hope you can!

Languages

The mod currently supports English, Danish and Dutch.
If you would like any other language to be integrated in the mod, and can provide translations of all the custom text below, I, (Warren Gilbert), will gladly add them.
