The Show/Hide Events mod is obsolete with TNG V10 since the functionality has been included in TNG
TNG V10 action required

  • if you upgraded over existing environment -- Delete the mod, DO NOT attempt to Clean up
  • You must update Admin >> Custom Event Type to change the Collapse from No to Yes See Collapsible Items
  • If you previously adjusted the width of the labelcol class, you need to remove that override to labelcol from your template mytngstyle.css

Purpose of the mod

This mod will hide/show events on a person's page to reduce 'excessive' displays.
An expand/collapse toggle icon is added to the event label.
Nicely hides excessive event data displayed on a person's page including displays created by the Census Plus International mod.

Known Mod Conflicts

If you have Person Custom Events or Custom Event Show/Hide mod installed you must remove it!
If you use Compact Person Media please replace with compact_person_media_v9.1.0.7a.zip!
This mod may or may not hide census displays on a person's page created by the Census Feature mod at this time.

Requirements

  • A working TNG installation.
  • An installed current version of the Mod Manager.

Automated Installation

  1. Remove and delete current (if any) version of this mod.
  2. Download the .zip file. Upload and Extract to the mods folder.
  3. Note: If you have Person Custom Events or Custom Event Show/Hide or Compact Person Media mod installed you must remove it!
  4. Follow the normal automated installation for Mod Manager, as shown in the example Mod Manager - Installing Config Files to install.

After Installation

There are parameters you can change in Mod Manager after installation by clicking the 'Edit' button for this mod.

  1. A parameter to optionally hide or show events to start is available for edit in Mod Manager after installation.
  2. A parameter to list events you do not want to hide is available for edit in Mod Manager after installation.
  • By default 'Standard' events are not hidden. If you want to hide a 'Standard' event, remove it from the list of tags.
  • Events consisting of only 1 row (No further info) will not have a toggle icon.
  • Here you can enter the 'Tag' or 'Type/Description' of events you Do Not Want to hide.
  • You can find these in Admin/Custom Event Types.
  • If the event 'tag' is EVEN you will need to enter the 'Type/Description' or 'Display'.
  • Each one must be separated with a comma only. Do not separate with a comma and space.
  • Example: ALIA,OBIT,_IMMI,1930 U.S. Census

Suggestion: After entering your events copy them to a .txt file for future use.

  1. Label column not wide enough after installation?
  • Increase the number of pixels in the class below and add to css/mytngstyle.css and/or template(x)/css/mytngstyle.css.
