Purpose of the Mod

This TNG modification Enables Switching between Mobile and Standard Mode Displays. TNG permits mobile devices, but not standard devices (e.g. laptops) to switch between mobile and standard mode displays with a button click located in page footers. Appending "sitever=mobile" or "sitever=standard" in the page URL is necessary to switch displays on standard devices. With this mod installed, that isn't necessary. A button select facilitates a quick switch of mobile or standard mode displays on a the PC. In addition, Edit Options are offered to choose to have a switch display button in the footer, the header, or both..

• The mod should work with all TNG's templates.
• No template files are modified.
• Note that in v15.x of the mod, in mobile mod the footer is omitted.

Requirements

• A working TNG installation.
• A backup of all affected files (see the list in the summary to the right)
• An installed current version of the Mod Manager.

Conflicts and Issues

Proper sequence if using these two mods:

1. Install Switch Mobile or Standard before Restrict Image Preview
2. Uninstall Restrict Image Preview before Switch Mobile or Standard

Otherwise a 'clean' may be required.

Installation

1. Uninstall and delete previous version of this mod (if installed)
2. Download the appropriate zip file as shown in the mod summary in the upper right corner of the page.
3. Extract the file from the downloaded zip file into the mods folder or FTP the extracted file to your mods folder.
4. Follow the normal automated installation for Mod Manager, as shown in the example Mod Manager - Installing Config Files to install the mod.

In the event of a problem

• Try using the Mod Manager Remove capability.
• Copy the backup of the affected files back to your TNG directory.
• Retry installing mod.
• Contact us through the TNG Community Forums.

Uninstalling the mod

If you want to completely Remove (uninstall) this mod and any tables if created, you should

1. click the Uninstall button to uninstall the mod
2. click the Delete button to delete the config file from the mods folder.

Upgrade

• Uninstall and eventually Delete the current Mod.
• Proceed as for an installation with the new Mod.

Edit Options

Select location of Switch Mode Display button
Footer Only = 0
Header Only = 1
Both Header and Footer = 2
