My Background

Born and live in Northern Illinois USA
Was a metadata analyst for a publishing company near Chicago for 19 years. Before that, I worked at an aerospace company in the technical publications department as a publishing systems analyst.
Retired in 2018 and am actively researching family history, knitting during the cold winters, enjoying the Zentangle method of drawing, and going places with my furry canine companion, a Shih-tzu/Westie mix named "Mitzi."

Have been researching my family history since 2004.
Completed the NGS Home Study Course in 2010.
Completed the "Advanced Research Methods" course at Institute of Genealogical and Historical Research taught by Elizabeth Shown Mills in 2011.
Attended several genealogy conferences from RootsTech, NGS, FGS, Midwestern Roots, International Germanic Genealogy Conference, and many state and local genealogy societies.
Visited ancestral homeland in Bubsheim, Germany on a Baden-Wüttemberg Family History Tour in Sep 2015.
Have belonged to several societies including DAR, Germanic Genealogy Society, APG, NHGS, NGS, Illinois State Genealogy Society, and several local genealogy societies.
