Purpose of the mod

This mod adds a message to the Google Maps in the headstones.php and showmap.php files for TNG 7.1.3 that alerts the user that clicking on the pin will provide additional information and also adds the required $text variables for the external link to the Google Maps server in the balloon so the user can get Directions to the Cemetery.

This mod applies to TNG 7.1.3 only

Requirements

• A working TNG installation. Automated installation has been tested on TNG Version 7.1.3.
• A backup of the TNG modules involved - headstones.php, showmap.php, and English/cust_text.php
• An installed current version of the Mod Manager.

Automated Installation

1. Download the file from google_map_cemetery_msg_v1.0.zip
2. After downloading the zip file, unzip the config file into your admin/mod_folder
3. Follow the normal automated installation for Mod Manager, as shown in the example Mod Manager - Installing Config Files to install the google_map_cemetery_msg_v1.0.cfg.

Custom Text Additions

Note that the config file only includes the English language changes, so if you support multiple languages you will need to modify the config file to add the custom text for your other languages, or you need to manually add the custom text.

The following custom text will be added to your English/cust_text.php file by this mod. If you are using other languages, you must add these lines to each of your language cust_text.php files with appropriate translations of course.

• Or copy the backup versions headstones.php, showmap.php, and English/cust_text.php back to your site.

• Happiness that your Cemetery Maps are much more informative :-)
• As with most source code modifications, these changes will likely be overwritten during your next TNG revision upgrade and will need to be re-implemented. (Using the Mod Manager to remove the mod before the upgrade, and re-installing the mod after the upgrade greatly simplifies this process. You can also use the Mod Manager Cleanup on the regressed mod).
