Home Pages - Getting Started

Your home page for TNG is called index.php. If you had a prior home page called "index.htm", "index.html" or "index.xhtml", you may have to remove it in order for your new home page to be displayed when your domain name alone is entered into a browser.

If you do not wish to use the default "vanilla" home page that comes with the TNG install, you need to decide which template you want to use for TNG. See Templates - Getting Started.

IN TNG V9 and after

TNG version: 9.0

TNG V9 and V10 use setup screens to select a template and define text, as well as images, for your templates. See Template Settings - V9

In TNG V8

TNG version: 8.1.3
TNG version: 8.0

For TNG V8, you can use the new capability in Admin >> Setup >> Template Settings to create the text for your home page. See Setup - Template Settings

If you support more than one language, you can also install the Template Settings - Multi-language Mod which will look for the cust_tmplvars.php file in your language folders as an override to the templateconfig.php file. With this TNG mod, you can then enter the text in Admin >> Setup >> Template Settings for the languages you provide for your users, and your Home Page will display in the language selected by the user.

In TNG V7

TNG version: 7.0

For TNG V7 you need to manually edit the text portions of the index.php. See the Home Page TNG V7 for information on how to customize your Home Page based on various templates.
