Purpose of the mod

The Parental LINES is an extract of Erik Hoppe's Maternal And Paternal Lines mod that shows only the direct paternal line (father-to-father or Y-DNA line) and direct maternal line (mother-to-mother or mtDNA line) as far back as is possible to trace.

Developer

This mod was developed by JeffRobison

Credit for the mod also goes to Erik Hoppe for the Maternal And Paternal Lines mod from which this mod was created. This mod was previously unpublished but had been shared with Ken Roy who had modified it to install if Erik's mod was installed.

v11.0.0.4 of the mod was reworked so it should install whether Erik's mod is installed or not and published by Ken Roy with Jeff's permission .

Cxech, Germain, and Spanish translations were provided by Ron krzmarzick

Mod Conflicts

No known conflict or install dependencies are known at this time.

Requirements

TNG version:

≥ 11.0.0

• A working TNG installation.
• A backup of all affected files (see the list below)

Installation

1. Click on the download link for your TNG version, shown in the summary in the upper right corner of the page.
2. Un-zip the downloaded file
3. Move/copy/FTP the .cfg file and the folder named parental_lines to the mods folder of your TNG system.
4. Follow the normal automated installation for Mod Manager, as shown in the example Mod Manager - Installing Config Files to install the mod.
5. Note - if you're using the tng.php WordPress-TNG Plugin, you need to "Update the TNG Variables" in the WordPress Admin pane for the TNG Plugin to get this to work correctly.

After installation

Empty Your Cache! or do a forced reload.
The mod adds to genstyle.css so it has to be re-loaded for the styles to take effect.

In the event of a problem

• Try using the Mod Manager Remove capability
• Replace all affected files with the copies you made before the installation.

Custom Text Additions

Note: The config file includes the English, Czech, French, German and Spanis language custom text.
For other languages you can modify the config file to add the custom text or manually add to whatever language you like.

Uninstalling the mod

If you want to completely Remove (uninstall) this mod and all its tables, you should

1. click the Remove button to uninstall the mod and then
2. click the Delete button to delete the config file from the mods folder.
