Popular mods

Chris, Some of the Popular mods you list are know to cause issues on sites that have medium size databases (25,000 people). For example, I had to remove the following mods from my site because I could not tolerate the overhead

Also not all mod users update the table to indicate they are using the mod and some may not even have usernames on the TNG Wiki.--Ken Roy 05:22, 24 September 2015 (CDT)

Thanks Ken, I tried to add a note, but discovered that the Cite extension hasn't been implemented. Is there some reason for this as it's used very heavily on other wikis. I would certainly recommend it. Chris Moss 06:17, 24 September 2015 (CDT)
My impression was that the Extension:Cite was use to provide references for article contents. I did not associate it with notes, so I will look at it for the MediaWiki upgrade. --Ken Roy 06:50, 24 September 2015 (CDT)
It's used for both purposes: different articles use "References" and "Notes" as the subheading. There's also a way of handling notes separately in the same article as references. But I'll asterisk it for the moment. Chris Moss 06:59, 24 September 2015 (CDT)
Thinking about it, it has a similar ambiguity to GEDCOM. The cite extension simply does footnoting - there's a whole raft of templates (cite x, citation etc) that organise those footnotes as citations. Chris Moss 08:17, 24 September 2015 (CDT)
