Introduction

This modification provides the means whereby the public What's New page includes the capability to limit the inclusion of recent Persons and Families that have changed, and the maximum number of media files to preview (e.g., Photos, Documents, Headstones). When the What's New page is first used within a browser session, these two limits will start out as per values selected by a system administrator using General Settings >> Miscellaneous options.

Both values are now designated using drop-down lists (thereby preventing erroneous input). Field labels, type, and explanations were modified to more accurately reflect the purpose of these default values. (See Visualization below) Support for Dutch, French, and German versions of field labels and explanations is provided. These default values serve as the starting point for parallel options on the What's New page.

Installation

1. Uninstall and delete previous version of this mod (if installed)
2. Download the appropriate zip file as shown in the mod summary in the upper right corner of the page.
3. Extract the file from the downloaded zip file into the mods folder or FTP the extracted file to your mods folder.
4. Follow the normal automated installation for Mod Manager, as shown in the example Mod Manager - Installing Config Files to install the mod.

In the event of a problem

• Try using the Mod Manager Remove capability.
• Copy the backup of the affected files back to your TNG directory.
• Retry installing mod.
• Contact us through the TNG Community Forums.

Uninstalling the mod

If you want to completely Remove (uninstall) this mod and all its tables, you should

1. click the Uninstall button to uninstall the mod
2. click the Delete button to delete the config file from the mods folder.

Upgrade

• Uninstall and eventually Delete the current Mod.
• Proceed as for an installation with the new Mod.

Support for French, German and Dutch languages is included. If you would like to have another language supported, you can certainly add our own cust_text.php file, or the author would be happy to work with you to include that with the Mod.
