Upgrading Mods to TNG v14

Mods eliminated by TNG V14

You should use the Mod Manager to uninstall all your mods prior to the upgrade. If you are not going to uninstall all TNG mods prior to the upgrade, you will end up having to replace some TNG modules that contained mods that were not replaced in the upgrade since the Mod Manager was changed in TNG v14..

The following mods are now incorporated or partially incorporated into TNG v14

Analyze only installed mods

56. Mod Manager: Michel Kirsch's "Analyze only install mods" mod has been incorporated.

You must delete the following without doing a Clean Up from the Mod Manager screen
- @Analyze only installed mods
- @MM_Data
- !Fix Admin Home page if installed
- @MM_logfix_michel if installed
or you must manually delete the following from your mods folder
- analyze_only_installed_mods_v13.0.4.13a.cfg
- mm_data_v13.1.2.12a.cfg
- fix_admin_home_page_v13.1.2.1.cfg
- mm_logfix_michel.cfg

Connections

75. Relationship: The Relationship tab has been supplemented by an advanced relationship/connection search, powered by the Connections mod (by Michal Jarocinski).

You must delete the following without doing a Clean Up from the Mod Manager screen
- Connections
or you must manually delete any the following from your mods folder
- connections_vx.x.x.x.cfg and its associated folder
  (i.e., delete all files and folders previously installed by any version of the Connections mod)

Fix Verticalchart Photos (There is no wiki page)

65 Pedigree: The vertical pedigree boxes will now match the boxes on the vertical descendant chart (size & orientation; Ken Roy's "Fix Verticalchart Photos" mod).

Private mod that was not published

Hide Admin DNA

17. DNA: The "Hide DNA" setting will now hide DNA tests and menu items in both the public and the Admin area

You must delete the following without doing a Clean Up from the Mod Manager screen
- Hide Admin DNA
or you must manually delete the following from your mods folder
- hide_admin_dna_v11.0.2.0.cfg

Office Viewer

44. Media: DOC and DOCX files can now be viewed inline instead of being automatically downloaded (based on Michel Kirsch's "Office Viewer" mod).

You must not install it and delete the following from the Mod Manager screen
- Office viewer
or you must manually delete the following from your mods folder
- office_viewer_v12.3.0.1.cfg
- Note : this mod shows "OK to install" but its installation have no effect.

Nicedit place note

xx. Michel Kirsch's "NicEdit place note" mod has been incorporated.

You must delete the following manually or via the Mod Manager screen.
- nicEdit place note

Select Events (There is no wiki page)

xx. Michel Kirsch's "Select events" mod has been partially incorporated.

You must delete the following manually or via the Mod Manager screen.
- Select events

Table of Descendants mod

15. Descendants: Jim Graham's Table of Descendants mod has been incorporated. Visitors will see a "Tables" option on the Descendants tab.

You must delete the following without doing a Clean Up from the Mod Manager screen
- Tables of descendants
or you must manually delete the following from your mods folder
- tables_of_descendants_v13.0.0.2.cfg

Add links to admin pages

xx. Michel Kirsch's "Add links to admin pages" has been partially incorporated. The new links leads to the "Edit" pages of person or family.

You must delete the following without doing a Clean Up from the Mod Manager screen
- Add links to admin pages

Free tag images

xx. Michel Kirsch's "Free tag images" has been partially incorporated. The tags without url link will have the same color as others.

You must delete the following without doing a Clean Up from the Mod Manager screen
- Free tag images.
DO NOT use the 'Restore' button in Mod Manager or you will lost your own free tags ! A migration tool will be written to ensure the migration of old free tags to the new TNG system.

TNG 14 removed the kludgy "pagedoesnotexist" link and put in an actual 404 redirection. It's so search engines will know to correct any index they have for the bad URL. Most hosting providers give you a way to produce your own custom 404 page.

Mods that install

Based on beta testing, the following mods show OK to Install on TNG v14 and may only require uninstall before the upgrade and re-install after the upgrade. Note that all the mods might not have been tested.
