Census Feature Options

The following options were added in V9002 or v9212 of the Census Feature mod and are controlled using the Mod Manager - Edit Parameters option to make changes:

Implemented

• Add USA to US Federal Census location. Defaults to (y)

If you do not want to add USA to your US locations, change the option to n

• Ancestry site that you access. Defaults to (com)

If your primary access is to Ancestry.co.uk, then change this value to co.uk. If your primary access is to Ancestry.ca, then change it to ca

• Use the Basic Image Viewer. Defaults to (n)

If you do not want to use the new Interactive Viewer, change the option to y.

Note that you cannot import the UK Census nor the Census of Canada collections from the Basic Viewer.

• Display Search Link if census not found. Defaults to (n)

If you want to display the search link when logged in with Admin privileges, change the option to y.

• Display the DOM Source input window. Defaults to (n) since there appears to be problems with importing Std Viewer files created this way.

If you want to test the DOM Source Input, change the option to y.

Caution - The DOM Source input window has been reported to contain problems, which have not been resolved

• Use Alternate Spelling table. Defaults to (y).

If you want to ignore the Alternate Spelling Table in searches for Person IDs, change the option to n.

• Displays the Transcript File name or National Archive ID on the Census Transcript row. Defaults to (y).

If you do not want to see the Transcript File name in the Census Transcript row, change the option to n

Partially Implemented

• Add UK to UK Census location. Defaults to (n)

If you want to add UK to your UK locations, change the option to y

Not yet implemented using this parameter but can be changed on the Admin Import from Ancestry screen

• Delete after import. Defaults to (n)

If you want to delete the file from the transcriptsource folder after import, change the option to y

Not yet implemented using this parameter but can be changed on the Admin Import from Ancestry screen

• Estimate Birth date. Defaults to (n)

If you want to estimate the birth date in census where it is not provided, change the option to y

Not yet implemented using this parameter but can be changed on the Admin Import from Ancestry screen

• Add Tree ID to Surname on links. Defaults to (n)

If you want to add the Tree ID to Surnames that are linked, change the option to y

Implemented in Transcript Display, may need to be implemented elsewhere

Not Yet Implemented

• Uppercase State abbreviation conversion. Defaults to (n)

If you want to uppercase your State abbreviation to name conversion, change the option to y

• Add value specified to the US county. Defaults to () where no addition is made

If you want to add Co. or County to your US County locations, change the option to Co. or to County

• Overlay existing Census Event location name. Defaults to (y).

If you want to overlay the Census Event location with that in the census being imported, change the option to y

• Add new people to your database when importing Census Transcripts. Defaults to (y).

If you do not want to add new people when importing the Census Transcript because your database is a desktop genealogy program, change the option to n
