Ambox notice.png Mod version numbers should be kept at v10.0.0.0 during beta testing so they match TNG V10.0.0 when TNG is released.
The change date for the mods Revision History can be 6 Feb 2014, when Darrin will release TNG V10 during the RootsTech 2014 Conference, but the TNG Wiki will not be updated until after Darrin releases TNG V10 to the general public.

Mods eliminated by TNG V10

44. People: If a person's birth and death years are known, the person's age will now be displayed under their name on the individual page, next to their birth/death years.
  • Action required
    • if you upgraded over existing environment -- Clean up and then Delete the mod
    • if you did a full install -- Delete the mod
While the Adjust Map Height Mod works in TNG V10, it might be rendered obsolete based on the TNG Collapsible Items capabilities of V10
48. People: The "Scoll Map Events" mod has been incorporated, meaning that if the events listed next to the map on an individual page exceed the height of the map, the area will be scrollable.
  • Action required
    • if you upgraded over existing environment -- Clean Up or manually delete the extensions/adjustmapheight.php file, and then Delete the mod
10. Export: You can now export a specific branch.
  • This mod was integrated as gedcom export of single branches with additional checkboxes for living and/or private persons/families.

19. Media: The "Body Text" field will now be available for all media types.

45. People: The "child descendant indicator" character, which shows next to a person's child on the individual page if that child also has children, has been changed from a ">" to a "+".

28. Menus: The Custom Menu Hook (which allows you to add new items to the TNG dropdown menus) has been adapted to support the "Custom Drop Down Menu" mod, meaning that new menu items can be added without creating any custom code.
The Custom Menu Hook in genlib.php that allows custom menu entries to be defined in customconfig.php now uses the Custom Drop Down Menu syntax
  • Action required
    • if you upgraded over existing environment -- Do NOT install the Custom Drop Down Menu mod You only need the changes to customconfig.php
    • if you did a full install -- Do NOT install the Custom Drop Down Menu mod You only need the changes to customconfig.php

17. Languages: TNG will now load the English custom messages before those of the current language. If a custom message is not defined for the current language, the English version will be used instead (if it exists). This helps with mods that may have only been created with English messages.
The English or English-UTF8 cust_text.php will now be load prior to the language specific custom text file thus eliminating missing text variables if the TNG Mod custom text has not yet been translated.
  • Action required
    • if you upgraded over existing environment -- Clean Up and then Delete the mod it is no longer needed with TNG V10
    • if you did a full install -- Do NOT install this mod but rather Delete it.
48. People: The "Scoll Map Events" mod has been incorporated, meaning that if the events listed next to the map on an individual page exceed the height of the map, the area will be scrollable.
  • Action required if you upgraded over existing environment -- Delete the mod, DO NOT attempt to Clean up
49. People: The "Scoll Person Citations" mod has been incorporated. If you choose to enable the "Scroll Citations" feature, then the Sources section at the bottom of a person's individual page will be capped at a certain height. If the number of citations causes that section to be taller than the capped height, then the section will be scrollable.
  • Action required
    • if you upgraded over existing environment -- Delete the mod
    • You must update Admin >> Setup >> General Settings >> Miscellaneous to change the Scroll citations from No to Yes
46. People: The "Show/Hide Events" mod has been incorporated, meaning that you can configure your Custom Event Types so that some of them start "collapsed" (all lines hidden except the top one). Visitors may still expand those lines at will.
  • Action required
    • if you upgraded over existing environment -- Delete the mod, DO NOT attempt to Clean up
    • You must update Admin >> Custom Event Type to change the Collapse from No to Yes See Collapsible Items
    • If you previously adjusted the width of the labelcol class, you need to remove that override to labelcol from your template mytngstyle.css
47. People: The "Show/Hide Person Media" mod has been incorporated, meaning that you can choose to start the media section on a person's individual page in a "collapsed" state (all thumbnails hidden, with just a total displayed). Visitors may still expand each section at will.
  • Action required
    • if you upgraded over existing environment -- Clean up the partial install (cust_text.php) and Delete the mod
    • You must update Admin >> Setup >> General Settings >> Media to change the Hide personal media from No to Yes See Collapsible Items
28. Menus: The Custom Menu Hook (which allows you to add new items to the TNG dropdown menus) has been adapted to support the "Custom Drop Down Menu" mod, meaning that new menu items can be added without creating any custom code.
