Ambox notice.png The Mods for TNG v9 category contains articles on changes made to the TNG software to change the behavior or the resulting page display specific to TNG V9.

With TNG V8 and above the preferred method for modifying TNG is to use the Mod Manager cfg files to install the Mods.

Since some of the mods include cust_text.php changes, you should not delete the English folder, which also contains the Admin Help files.
You should update the TNG Sites Using section of the mods you download and install on your site.

  • Fixed several Interactive Import changes made by Ancestry
  • Fixed the DOM Source window interactive import and added ability to rename 0domdata.txt file.
  • Multiple Changes made to displays which includes adding
    • Years Married and Children Born / Living to 1900 and 1910 US Census
    • Slave counts for the 1830 and 1840 US Federal Census
  • Added new fields to tables to enable better documentation of sources and to support census link integrity

28 October 2013 Similarity search mod NEW v9.2.2.0 Adds similarity search to TNG. The user enters one or two words of a person/place name

and the mod returns similar names.

25 October 2013 Event Toggle Innermenu UPDATE v9.1.0.1a Revised photo section ID's because the 'Cemeteries' icon in the 'Find' menu toggled off/on.
If you use the Show/Hide Person Media mod, you will need to download that update also.
This mod adds a 'Toggle All Events' to the innermenu bar on an individual's page.

A nice option requested by Joe Proctor to allow users to toggle ALL Event/Photo sections that are shown/hidden using the Show/Hide Events mod and/or the Show/Hide Person Media mod.

  • If event/photo sections are expanded (shown) then clicking 'Toggle All Events' will collapse (hide) them.
  • If event/photo sections are collapsed (hidden) then clicking 'Toggle All Events' will expand (show) them.

25 October 2013 Show/Hide Person Media UPDATE v9.1.0.1 Revised photo section ID's because the 'Cemeteries' icon in the 'Find' menu toggled off/on.

This mod allows you to hide media on a person's page. A toggle icon is added to the media label.(Photos, Histories, etc.)
  • Mod Manager 'Edit' parameter to initially Show or Hide.
  • Mod Manager 'Edit' parameter to set the number of media before hiding.

30 September 2013 Show/Hide Events UPDATE v9.1.0.2 This mod allows a user to hide events on a person's page individually. A toggle icon is added to the event label.
  • v9.1.0.2 modifies personlib.php only. Modifications are limited to additions only. No existing TNG code is changed.
  • There should be no conflict with Age Calculation Mod versions.

30 September 2013 Scroll Map events UPDATE v9.0.0.2 This mod adds a scroll bar if the event column exceeds the event map height.
  • Revised to work with all template styles.
  • Slightly different display but Ken Roy convinced me it was the way to go..

24 September 2013 Scroll Person Citations NEW v9.0.0.0 This mod allows you to set a maximum height to the 'Sources' field on a person's page before scrolling. Jeff
22 September 2013 Census Plus International UPDATE v9.1.0.2 The following fixes were made in the update:
  • Fixed Interactive Import so that complete Location is imported and not just the State
    Note to those using TNG only, you will need to update the location in the Census Plus International mod created Census Events from the Import from Ancestry
  • Fixed the Image hover message when Image URL is used

21 September 2013 Census Plus International UPDATE v9.1.0.1 The following fixes and enhancements were made in the update:
  • Changed to allow the Census Location to be updated in CP Update using the Town, County, State, and Country fields.
  • Added Roll to CP Display and Update
  • Changed Add to populate required fields with ?
  • Fixed the Ln display for the US 1850-1870 Census
  • changed the logic to set the Image link to the imageurl if it exists
  • fixed the CP Household Update so that the link to the Ancestry Images uses the Census Plus International option
  • standardize the Header displays for CP Display, Update, and Household Update
  • fixed the Image link for Ancestry images to open correctly in a separate window
  • fixed personlib.php hook in the cfg file to eliminate the conflict with the DoNotMap Custom Events mod
  • fixed the Selected option for TreeID to be set correctly when passed from previous script
  • added 1921 to the Census of Canada Add screen
  • fixed split household so that it displays correctly for Transcript IDs that are sequential
  • fixed to delete the census event when person is unlinked.

15 September 2013 Census Plus International NEW v9.1.0.0 This is a new mod is an alternative to the previous Census Feature mod and provides several enhancements, such as
  • uses TNG Find Person dialog for linking TNG persons to Census Plus transcripts
  • uses TNG Name Order option to display Census Plus transcript on Individual Page
  • updates scripts to use options set by the user in Mod Manager Edit, such as controlling
    • whether 'United States' or 'USA' or nothing is added to US locations
    • whether 'Co.' or 'County' or nothing is added to the County in the location name
    • whether all members of a household are displayed whether linked or not
  • adds an Edit and Delete capability, to allow users to delete the imported entries or lines within an imported transcript they do not want
  • adds the capability to use a TNG User Media collection or your own file name. See update imageurl
  • adds a single line census add capability
    • with several new census selections
    • with a format selection in Add, Other Census that allows you to enter census not defined in the mod and control the row or line formatting
  • adds a new search capability that was cloned from the TNG Advance Search dialog to locate Census Plus transcripts
